What is STARangers

STARangers.net is the networking (partnerships and memberships), business development (marketing and educational expansion) and social enterprise programs for the Veterans Family Fund of America (VFFA). The VFFA is a non profit organization based in Washington State which engages the average American citizen on important issues and needs of the American Military Veteran (AMV). STARangers (Sustaining the Awareness Rangers) offers dedicated programs for this support of AMV. This awareness needs to be sustained and made one of the most important issues for business and political leadership. The ability of veteran and their families to become sustainable should not be something left to chance.

A Call to Sustainability

In recent years, the term “sustainability” has been made popular with discussions and programs based within personal lifestyle, business practices, and governmental policies. At the foundation of this intense interest in sustainability is a widely held belief that America, with its focus on consumerism, is not sustainable. However, you debate this more macro problem, the fact is that you can train and coach people to become sustainable. STARangers and the VFFA have taken on the quest of doing this work.

To most the generally accepted work of sustainability is based within personal and cultural goals, there is a more workable definition we would like to offer; “Sustainability is best seen as a measure of an on-going partnership between community and change that promotes human development and awareness.”
